"Investigate Further" (AFT)
So yeah, the production values of these action figure stories sure have changed over the years. I hesitate to say "improved" because these so-called "improvements" require a certain investment of time to go with them. I'm liking the speech balloons, though; makes the panels neater and more contained. Shooting against a white wall was an easy cheat, but I'm enjoying having backgrounds even more!

Back in 2005 I had crappier equipment -- dial-up Internet, an elderly computer, an obsolete camera, and only Paint for photo editing and special effects. Hell, maybe all that struggle was the investment in time!

Suffice it to say, I like a certain amount of rough-around-the-edges. But my hands hurt now from all the resizing of images. And I had to spend hours searching for photos of naked male bodies...and young naked male bodies. And altered my facebook so I could pretend it was Adrian Veidt's. And then looked for more photos of male bodies. Such a slave to my hobby. It all makes me laugh, and who doesn't need every laugh they can get?

Title: "Investigate Further"
Starring action figure Rorschach and action figure Nite Owl.
Rated PG
Summary: Adrian Veidt's "boys" folder holds many secrets.
Warning: Lots of photos.

(Sorta based on comments by [info]loony_lucifer regarding that photo of JEH. i.e., that Veidt would have boy!JEH's photo in the folder. heh-heh-heh.)

Ha! Loved it! You have come a long way! From Wonka pedophilia to superman pedophilia. Nice.

YOU HAVE A FACEBOOK?!

HAHAHAHAAAAA! Yeah, when you put it like that...!

Yes, I still need to evolve thematically :)

Yeah, but just for family and local friends. I don't like anything about it, except for the occasional chat with my sister. SHE'S on it all the time, so it's a convenient way to keep up to date on my nieces and nephews.

I'm thinking....CROSSOVER! Wonka gets busted by Rorschach and Nite Owl for indecent liberties with a child. haha

Any chance of me getting added on FB? Yeah, it's not as great as people think it is; at least, not to me. But it's been the single way I've stayed in touch with friends from high school! And came into contact with my Weeny Wizard buddy from the Warren! I guess it has its plusses.

Oh, AWESOME! Wonka has committed many crimes that they could bust. This is only the third episode in my Watchmen series. I'm sure as soon as the slashy thread gets old, working in some crimebusting would be a great idea.

Wellllll, it's just that it's under my real name -- and while you know my name, I don't want it out available to the general public (not that that's what you are either.) Sorry, man. We'll always have LJ. And dare I ask what a Weeny Wizard is?

The FB wasn't exactly work, at least -- I just added that profile pic and photoshopped his name over mine. It's just so many panels! Go through them all adding speech bubbles, then go through and add dialogue, etc. I love every minute of it, though. I enjoy "tedious."

I swear, sometimes the figures are so lifelike! They twist and move and they're like a real cartoon panel. You posed them so well!

But the story line is also wonderful. And you have Rorschach's speech pattern down. NICE!!!

Nite Owl is FANTASTIC to pose! SO many articulation points! On the opposite end of the spectrum is Rorschach and his immobility.

I've been posting Dan and Rorschach's adventures in a NiteOwl/Rorschach community, but also in my new Action Figure Theatre journal, [info]a_f_t since it's turned into an almost-regular webcomic.

Last week I saw a t.v. show about how they make action figures. Maybe you know this, but I didn't. They have all this scanning equipment, and the actor just stands very still and they just 3D render him. A copier machine builds up the model (rather than carving it out of the plastic). They made an action figure of the host of the program, and I was so jealous!

I had no idea about the Action Figure Theatre! That's what I get for taking a break from LJ. Friending...done!

Scanning the actor? So high tech! Sometimes the face still doesn't turn out, it seems. I've yet to see an exact likeness of Viggo Mortensen.

Here's one for you: I learned this weekend that what we do is called "fumetti". That's using photos and speech balloons to tell the story. I want to research that term a little more.

Well, I never mentioned the AFT journal (except once in a community) so there's the reason you didn't know. Nice of you to friend it, though, thanks!

Hmm, maybe Viggo flinched when they were scanning him, and he came out all blurry ;) Too bad they can't capture him. He's fairly sculpted to begin with; you'd think it would be easy.

Fumetti. Ooo, that's interesting. Yeah, I'm going to Google it and see what turns up.

This might fit in that category too. This person uses screenshots from The Dark Knight as panels of her comic and adds dialog ballons. Some of them have had me crying with laughter. Here's a link to the 7th one, which is great, not only for the LotR tie-ins...
